At RISING HerWay: The Women Rising Project, we are committed to building inclusive spaces — online and off. We have crafted this site to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which meets the requirements outlined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Kentucky’s state and local accessibility standards, including those upheld in Lexington, KY.

What We’ve Done — Site Accessibility by Design

As part of our commitment to accessibility, we have implemented the following features across our website:

Ran the Wix Accessibility Wizard to proactively address potential barriers
Set a clear site language for better screen reader compatibility
Ordered content in a logical, user-friendly flow
Applied clear, consistent heading structures throughout all pages

Used color contrast combinations that meet accessibility guidelines
Reduced site animations and motion that could cause distress or sensory overload
